Eastbourne Liberal Jewish Community is a constituent member of Liberal Judaism, one of the UK's Progressive Jewish movements. Our members come from the town of Eastbourne and the wider East Sussex area, including Hastings/St Leonards, Bexhill, Uckfield, Wadhurst, East Grinstead, Lewes, Seaford and surrounding areas. We have our own part-time rabbi, Rabbi Roberta Harris-Eckstein, and we meet one Friday evening and one Saturday morning a month for services. We also hold some festival services.
See our Services page for the latest information on what's on.
Potential new members and genuine visitors are welcome to attend our services. If you have not visited us before, please phone or email before your visit to let us know you are coming. We will ask you for photo ID and for your name and address for security reasons.
Our next service is on Friday 24th January 2020 at 6.30 pm at CTK. The service will be ELJC's Holocaust Memorial Day commemoration and will be led by Patrick Sellam.
Eastbourne's Civic Ceremony to mark UK Holocaust Memorial Day will be taking place on Thursday 23rd January 2020 from 6.30 to 9.00 pm.
ELJC chair Larry Navon will be contributing one of his own songs along with his musical partner Lena Holt.
Welcome Building, Carlisle Road, Eastbourne (next to the Congress Theatre)
