Our services are held at the Christ the King (CTK) Catholic Church hall, 3 Princes Road (on the Langney roundabout), Eastbourne, East Sussex BN23 6HS and at Alice Croft House (ACH), Cornfield Lane, Eastbourne, BN21 4NE.

Services are led by Rabbi Roberta Harris-Eckstein or our lay leaders. We use the Liberal Judaism prayer book "Siddur Lev Chadash" which is in English and Hebrew and we have transliterations available for those who wish to follow the Hebrew parts of the service.

Visitors - we ask that all visitors to our services respect our Liberal Jewish faith, traditions and practices.  Please do not bring in, use or distribute any non-Jewish texts or attempt to influence our members in any way incompatible with Liberal Judaism.  ELJC reserves the right to ask anyone behaving in an inappropriate way to leave.

The hall at CTK is fully disabled-accessible with disabled toilet facilities and a free car park with step-free access.

2019 Services, Festivals and Events

Friday 30th August - Erev Shabbat Service, 6.30pm, CTK - led by Karen Emerson-Baum.

Saturday 14th September - Shabbat Morning Service, 11.30 am, CTK, led by Larry Navon and Ruth Selo.  Beginners' Hebrew at 10.30 am.

Any non-member wishing to attend our High Holydays services will require a ticket which costs 25 for all four services.  Please email ( or phone (07497 401280) to book.

Sunday 29th September - Erev Rosh Hashanah, 6.00 pm, CTK,  led by Rabbi Roberta Harris-Eckstein.

Monday 30th September - Rosh Hashanah morning service, 10.30 am, CTK, led by Rabbi Roberta Harris-Eckstein, followed by tashlich on the beach.

Tuesday 8th October - Kol Nidre service, 6.30 pm, CTK, led by Rabbi Roberta-Harris-Eckstein

Wednesday 9th October - Yom Kippur morning service, 10.30 am, followed by Memorial service and concluding service to finish at approximately 3.00 pm, led by Rabbi Roberta Harris-Eckstein.

Sunday 27th October - ELJC Annual General Meeting - Alice Croft House - 11.00am
